Las Vegas Sports Consultants (LVSC) is the world’s premier oddsmaking company and the most respected authority on making the lines.
“You either have a passion for it or you don’t,” Seba said. What Is the Line Trying to Accomplish?
Why the Line Changes
Since the oddsmaker’s ultimate goal is equally dividing the betting action, public perception and betting patterns must be taken into account. Obviously, if the line comes out a week ahead of the event (which is the case in football), there is much that could happen during the week leading up to the event that could affect the line. For example, the public might have heavy betting interest week after week on a popular college football team such as USC. By moving the line, sportsbooks can influence how the public bets on a particular game. Mike Seba is a Senior Oddsmaker at LVSC and has been making lines for the last six years. That is not the case at all – their intent is NOT to evenly split the ATS result between the teams; rather, their goal is to attract equal betting action on both sides. If an oddsmaker comes up with a preliminary line of USC -7, then an adjustment up to -7.5 or -8 would be made in response to the public’s expected USC bias. Of the 4-5 oddsmakers, generally the 2 most respected opinions are weighed more heavily by the Odds Director before he decides on the final line.
How the Opening Line Is Made
“The main objective is that our clients get equal action on both sides,” Seba said. By necessity their approach is very research-oriented and concise, since with millions of dollars at risk there is little margin for error. Oddsmakers have to determine if any changes are necessary and send out an “adjusted line.”
Divided action means the sportsbook is guaranteed a profit on the game because of the fee charged to the bettor (called juice or vig – typically $11 bet to win $10). We do this by drawing from past experiences and applying them to current situations.
The purpose of these adjustments, like all line adjustments, is to more equally divide the betting action. People think it’s much more complicated, but it’s not.”
Oddsmakers at LVSC are professional sports junkies who love what they do and would probably do it for nothing if you asked them, but they do get paid for it. In doing so they attempt to make more attractive the team that is getting less action.
Oddsmakers can also change the line depending on various event-related factors such as player injuries or weather. Seba explained that it all starts with each oddsmaker creating a line on each game based upon their own personal approach. Also, adjustments are made after reading each team’s local newspapers to get a sense of what the coaches & players are thinking going into the game.
“The #1 thing for us is to make a line for each game that creates good two-way action.
The last step in the line-making process for each oddsmaker is taking one final look to determine whether or not the line “feels right.” This is where common sense and past experience with how games are bet enters into the picture. This usually includes having up-to-date power ratings on each team. If we’ve done that, we’ve done our job.”
Once the opening line is released by LVSC, the individual sportsbooks decide if they want to make any adjustments before offering it to the public.
Once a game’s power rating based pointspread is determined, the oddsmaker will make adjustments to that line after considering each team’s most recent games played and previous games played against that opponent.
A round-table discussion among the 4-5 oddsmakers involved in making the line for each sport is then conducted and a consensus line is decided upon by the Odds Director before it is released to the sportsbooks. The power ratings are adjusted after each game a team plays.
For example, if the pointspread on a game is 7 and most of the money is coming in on the underdog (taking the +7), sportsbooks will then move the number down to 6 ½ to try and attract money on the favorite. In our extended interview, Seba explained that there are 4-5 oddsmakers assigned to make lines for each of the major sports (pro & college football and basketball; MLB, NHL, boxing, golf).
Power ratings are the oddsmaker’s value of each team and are used as a guide to calculate a “preliminary” pointspread on an upcoming game.
Moving the line is the oddsmaker’s effort to balance betting action, and often times such moves can have a major impact on a bettor’s decision. “We’re not trying to pick the team that covers the spread, we’re trying to make it a coin flip, a tough decision (for the bettor). Of course there is an entire method to the madness on how the opening line is created.
There is a common misconception that point spreads represent the oddsmakers’ prediction of how many points the favorite will win by. Stated another way, they want to create a line that half the people find appealing to bet one way while the other half find it appealing to bet the other way (known as ‘dividing the action’). Each of these oddsmakers bring unique opinions, strengths and weaknesses to the process.
Experts working for the individual books having a strong opinion on the game
Once betting begins, sportsbooks can adjust the line at any time. Examples of non-game factors that would require an adjustment to a team’s power rating are key player injuries and player trades.
Individual books having players who consistently bet with certain tendencies (such as an extreme bias toward favorites or toward a certain popular team like USC)
The opening line is the first line created by the oddsmakers, which is then sent out to sportsbooks
The batter swings and drives the ball in a direction that would be to the opposite field. The batter should keep the head still and the head should stay down with the eyes on the ball throughout the swing.
As the inventor of the HitnStik*, Hit2win Trainer^, and SKLZ Target+ Trainer, I sometimes cringe when I see someone using the product incorrectly. It is important to know the proper angles when using this product.
8. The ball hit is on the middle 3rd of the plate. The batter will drive the bat through the box. Remember to direct the ball toward the belly button or back foot of the batter.
There are many versions of the “ball-on-a-rod” trainer. The first thing to remember is that the holder should always direct the rod and ball toward the hitter’s back foot. You can learn to hit without having to chase, pick-up or retrieve a single ball. 1. Then later came other versions including the Hit2win Trainer^ and the SKLZ Target Trainer. The unit is portable and requires no setup. You should not move the ball when using these trainers. The ball should be positioned slightly in front of the batters front foot. INSIDE STRIKE – The holder moves toward the direction of the pitcher from the batter. The ball should be positioned at a location inside the batters front foot. AWAY STRIKE LOCATION – The holder will move around a couple more feet to give the batter a ball to hit that is on the outer 3rd of the plate. Make sure the ball is directed at the batter’s back foot.
2. HIP TURNER LOCATION – The holder stands slightly behind the batter directing the ball at the batter’s bat pocket. +SKLZ Target is a registered trademark of Pro Performance Sports.
The batter takes 5 swings at 5 different ball locations. The batter should attack the inside strike earlier to keep from getting jammed.
4. MIDDLE STRIKE CONTACT – The holder will move around a couple more feet. I sometimes get frustrated because I observe the product being used incorrectly.
*HitnStik is a registered trademark belong to Easton Sports. Positive reinforcement should be given when the batter makes good solid contact.
The key to proper use of any hand-held batting device is KNOWING AND USING THE CORRECT ANGLE FOR THE DRILL YOU ARE DOING! If you do not direct or point the ball at the proper angle, the batter will always make poor contact. Make sure that the hitting area is safe with no one within 15 feet of the holder or the batter.
4. Check to make sure the batter is using proper grip, stance and stride mechanics.
3. All of these baseball trainers basically work and perform the same. This high speed training machine is 100% Guaranteed to raise Batting Averages and has a full year warranty.
9. The first and original version was the HitnStik*. Check out the Bat Action Hitting Machine baseball pitching simulator at http://BatAction.com. I often see coaches and parents working with players when I visit a park. The purpose of these swings is to make the batter use the hips as the batter turns and hits the ball. Second, the holder must stand at the proper angle to the batter and direct the ball at the correct angle to the batter. Make sure that the batter is swinging in a direction that is free of persons should the batter lose the grip on the bat.
6. The batter should take a step and drive the ball.
2. ^Hit2win is a registered trademark of Nedco Sports Products. First, the product is to be used as a “still” ball trainer. The batter does not move. It is welcomed in complexes and parks because it allows safe pre-game warm-up, requires little space, and does not damage fences. The holder should make sure that the trainer safety strap is used to prevent the holder from losing their grip on the trainer when the batter hits the ball.
5. Allowing the ball to pass inside the front foot allows the batter to use the front foot and leg as a anchor and leverage to generate a more powerful swing.
. If the angle is wrong, the end of the bat will hit behind the ball and the bat will never actually touch the ball. The ball should be at a location just inside the batters back foot. This teaches the batter to allow the ball down the middle to get inside the front foot so that maximum power can be generated during the swing. These trainers are some of the most popular baseball batting trainers used today.
1. Make sure the batter does not over stride.

The popularity come from the benefits they offer the baseball player, baseball coach, and the baseball parent. They have different names but they all are great trainers to teach and train young players. The height of the ball should be raised and lowered in the strike zone to give the batter swings at both high and low strikes.

Carib ruled the roost season at 93-66-9, 58.5 percent, +18.55 units after ABC held the penthouse spot in the 2007-08 season.
The highest two-year winning percentage using RLM from the top five books belongs to College Football, which went 480-341-10, 58.5 percent, +95.10 units. Keep an eyes on the top five sportsbooks at Sports Insights though, as NCAAF sports betting has been very liquid in that regard, with only one sportsbook (believe it or not, Bodog) finishing in the top five both years.
Also, games where over 60 percent of the public are on one side, yet there is reverse line movement of at least 10 cents on the Money Line from the opening number at the top five sportsbooks in MLB and NHL sports betting has also been profitable. Another important recommendation is to use a slow moving (but reliable) sportsbook. RLM takes place when more money/ sportsbook picks are bet by the small percentage of bettors that are on the unpopular side (the sharps) than is bet by the huge majority of players betting the popular side (the squares). The records quoted below are based on the bets being made at the triggering books, so beating the move by a half-point or a few cents now and then would actually make your record even better.
NBA sports betting has the lowest two-year five-book RLM winning percentage among the 11/10 sports, but then again, every gambler in the world would kill to go 382-301-9, 55.9 percent, +48.90 units, and the 57.5 percent win rate this past season is nothing to sneeze at. To illustrate, let us say that San Diego Chargers open at -7 over the Miami Dolohins, and over 70 percent of the sports bets placed on the game are on San Diego. This would make Miami +6 the RLM play.
So what causes RLM when the aim of most sportsbooks is to get as close to balanced action on both sides as possible? The answer to this is quite simple: the sharp bettors; the one’s who give sports betting advice. We tracked the top five books for each of the pointspread sports for the last two years, as as you can see, this strategy has been profitable in every sport.
To back this up, our friends over at Prosportsonline.net have tracked the records for games where over 60 percent of the public has been on one side, yet there was reverse line movement of at least one full point from the opening number at the top sportsbooks in NFL, NCAAF, NBA and NCAAB. Last year was a good RLM season for NFL sports betting (45-29, 60.8 percent, +11.91), but two sportsbooks that were in the top five in NFL RLM in both seasons.
College Basketball sports betting was not too shabby either, with a two-year mark of 492-356-22, 58.0 percent, +91.96 units. Note that these records are for sides only and do not include totals.
The NFL sports betting is generally considered the toughest sport to beat, yet blindly following this method produced an exceptional 59.2 percent win rate last season, improving the two year record to 328-249-12, 56.8 percent, +59.06 units. All of this will be fun to follow (not to mention profitable) when every sport except baseball are going on simultaneously during the winter months.
Thus, following reverse line movements is the same thing a following the smart money. This is where an important word of caution is in order though. Keep in mind that NCAAB was the most liquid sport in terms of top-five sportbooks however, with not a single sportsbook making the top five both years. Sure, using this approach leaves open the possibility of the line turning around and moving back against you, but as you will see in bit, betting as soon as an RLM qualifies has been profitable in every major North American sport such as the last two seasons, so if one line turns around, so be it. It should be noted that many fewer MLB games have qualified so far this season (is the whole world using RLM now?), but smaller profits is still profit.Again, these records are for Money Lines only and do not include totals. Finally, NHL sports betting has picked up 148.49 units in two years, and unlike MLB, NHL had four sportsbooks out of the top five gain double-digit units this past season. Furthermore, they list the RLM records for many individual sportsbook, making it easy to spot which books this system is working at and which books it may be best to ignore.
Now do the sharps win every single time? Absolutely not! However, they are right more often than they are wrong, so being on the same side as the sharps is a prudent strategy over the long run, and again, the best thing is that there in absolutely no conventional sports handicapping necessary..
The proper way to make a sports bet using reverse line movement is to place your bet as soon as there is an RLM of one full point (or 10 cents in MLB and NHL) off of the opening line. The huge problem with this is that the nfl line, ncaaf line or nhl line may have moved too much by that time, and all of the value has been sucked out of the unpopular side.
By: Manny G
So what exactly is reverse line movement? RLM takes place when a large majority of bets are on one team, yet the line moves in the opposite direction. Keep a close eye on Canbet here, as that Australian sportsbook cracked the top five both years.
So what we recommend is to only use the top five each season for each individual sport (in terms of units won). This may enable you to get the stale more favorable sports betting line at the time the reverse line movement hits at the triggering Sportsbook. . However, instead of the line rising as you might expect, it instead drops to Chargers -6. Quite a few RLM followers watch the moves until almost game time, and then bet accordingly
Yet he used a wire to try to get coins back he used to make telephone calls. Ali later said that Marciano punched so hard he was sore for days after. And Brockton loved him right back, at least in part because many of them became rich betting on Rocky’s fights.
Outwardly Marciano’s life after boxing was quite successful – unlike many fighters, he kept his money and his wits. One sportswriter said Marciano brought the “austere, sackcloth-and -ashes approach of a monk” to his training. He would never be a classic boxer, but he worked unceasingly at improving his craft, and trained relentlessly. It was an incredible run. He knocked out nine of his early opponents in the first round. Yet his retirement years revealed a man who seemed simple, but often was not.
Rocky’s last big payday was a computerized fight with Muhammed Ali in 1969. Marciano spent hours at his opponent’s hospital bed, and in church praying for the man’s life. He was awkward in the ring. Rocky didn’t trust banks, either, so he hid his cash: in the ground, inside toilet tanks, in light fixtures. He was a near-classic example of the triumph of classic virtues (Boston Herald Traveler, September, 1969).”
Everett M. He said if the man died he would quit fighting. He was famous, successful, and well thought of.
Marciano’s determination in the Walcott fight showed the world the new champion’s character and personality. Asked about his reaction when flying shrapnel hit his jaw and snapped off some teeth, Pierino replied, “I just spit them out and kept coming.”
Not that there is anything particularly Catholic about being a teetotaler. It’s just that Marciano, though intelligent, was a very simple man who never forgot where he came from. At the time many children died of pneumonia, but Rocco eventually recovered, and Lena kept her promise.
Marciano died without a will. Jude’s oil while in his corner waiting for the start of that fight.
Perhaps it was his simplicity that allowed him to retire after beating everyone worth fighting. He even had a role in a movie. The champion was Jersey Joe Walcott, a ring veteran most experts picked to beat Marciano easily. Augustine before defending his title, and said: “The biggest thrill I could think of would be an audience with the pope?”
Maybe Rocky ran to avoid an estranged relationship with Barbara. Although he enjoyed being champion, Marciano remained unchanged. Rocky seemed too busy to be home.
* * *
Rocky ran from an early age. Once he hit a man so hard he almost killed him. The people of the world should be informed of this boy’s character and personality.”
Far behind on points late in the fight, Rocky needed a knockout to win. Rocco refused but eventually he tired of having his name misspelled and mispronounced, and allowed his name to be shortened to Rocky Marciano. At the last minute Rocky decided to squeeze in an appearance at a steak house in Des Moines, Iowa. He hit his opponents on the break, after the bell, and below the belt. Walcott’s experience kept Marciano off-balance and sometimes made him look ridiculous. He retained his public life, crisscrossing across the country to give speeches, participate in benefits, and conduct business. Sometimes he would cover his chin and hands with St. He didn’t trust lawyers or accountants, and preferred to deal in cash. Or the estrangement may have developed over Rocky’s running, which may have sprung from a preoccupation with money. At the time boxing was a diversion, a way to make a few bucks to help out his family. The nicest thing about being champ, he said, “is that people like you.” Everyone but boxing experts, who found Rocky’s style too crude to suffer. The pilot had not flown at night before, became confused by the bad weather, and attempted to land in a field rather than the Newton airport.
Marchegiano went to New York and met Al Weill, a boxing manager who tried to Americanize his name. After the Rock retired he kept running.
His upbringing was steeped in Italian customs and traditions. He golfed with priests, helped promote parish functions, even lunched with Cardinal Spellman. Life magazine called him “pure of speech” and “a clean living boy.” He was elsewhere described as “astonishingly innocent,” and “totally without deception, totally without guile.” He didn’t drink or smoke; in fact, when a host at a party for Marciano in Brockton offered the champ a drink, Rocky replied, “If you don’t mind, I’ll take an apple.”
After knocking out an old Joe Louis, Rocky got a title shot. The pilot landed the plane in a field in Newton, Iowa, and rammed into a lone tree in the middle of the field. Then Rocky and Ali sparred 70 rounds for the camera, simulating different endings to the fight. Stallone credited Chuck Wepner’s losing effort in a fight with Muhammed Ali as the inspiration for the film, yet the similarities of Rocky Balboa to Rocky Marciano are numerous and obvious.
He rarely saw his wife and children; or his parents, brothers, and sisters. And he could be incredibly tight with a buck. It hit Walcott’s jaw with the sound of a baseball bat. The pilot and his two passengers were instantly killed. They all lived in a two bedroom apartment. Rocky always apologized, but the fouling continued.
Five months after Marciano’s death “The Superfight” debuted in theaters. Marciano stepped inside and beat Walcott to the punch with a short right hand that traveled maybe eight inches. She and her friends prayed the Rosary at the child’s bedside and waited. It is difficult to win a fight when you can’t reach your opponent. The man recovered, but never fought again.
(An experiment was performed on Rocky’s punching power. Walcott bounced off and threw a hard left hand. She smoked too, and developed a glandular problem. There was bad weather and the plane ran low on gas. Pierino’s exposure to mustard gas during combat changed his life, but not his toughness. Rocky hadn’t fought or trained for fourteen years. Several opponents quit boxing after being knocked out by Marciano. Equally unique, Marciano never came out of retirement to challenge subsequent champions, a temptation very few ex-champions have overcome, much less succeeded at.
“In this age of the anti-hero and the non-hero, Rocky Marciano was the hero with whom the mass of Americans could readily identify, the hero who surmounted all difficulties by dint of hard work, dedication and perseverance. Barbara missed Rocky, and drank too much. He backed Walcott into the ropes. Rocco was in his twenties, when most fighters hit their peak. On those occasions Rocco reached opponents with his right hand, however, they fell down and didn’t get up.
On August 31, 1969, Marciano planned to interrupt his business circuit and fly back to Florida to celebrate his forty-sixth birthday with his family. He would interrupt his training schedule to attend Mass. Ali complained about his ‘loss’, alleging the computer was made in Alabama.
Sources . The sparring film would be spliced together to match the computer outcome of the fight – a closely guarded secret that would not be revealed until “The Superfight” aired in theaters.
He was born Rocco Francis Marchegiano (Mark a-jahn-o) on September 1, 1923, the second son (the first died shortly after childbirth) of Pierino and Lena Marchegiano, first generation Italian immigrants who came to America after the first World War. He usually didn’t pay anything for his cross-country trips: no plane fare, hotel fare, or meals. He boarded a small, single engine Cessna. Anthony for her son’s recovery, promising to give up her diamond engagement ring if Rocco recovered. Anthony before his first title fight, read The Confessions of St. Rocco’s biggest limitation was arms so short they were almost stubby. Walcott collapsed to the canvas and was counted out. Lena’s doctor said she could have no more children; this put a fine edge on her concern for Rocco’s health.
After serving as a GI in World War II, Rocco played minor league baseball. He had no boxing skills. His fanaticism about physical conditioning, along with his determination and punching power, led to an unequalled record for a heavyweight champion: forty-nine professional wins, no defeats, forty-three victories by knockout. His friends said the only thing Rocky was afraid of was being poor. He even used a coat hanger to stuff money inside curtain rods.
As he continued to successfully defend his title, Marciano gradually drew respect from critics. Until Rocco put Brockton on the national map, his hometown was best known for its shoe factories. His marriage was strained. His parents loved opera, ate Italian food, and had wine with dinner. When he wasn’t playing sports he was running and exercising.
The answer: Rocky Marciano, heavyweight boxing champion from 1952 to 1956, when at age thirty-three he retired with a perfect record (49-0, with 43 knockouts). Skehan, Rocky Marciano, Biography of a First Son, Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, 1977.
Rocky was an old school Catholic. They had one daughter, but Barbara miscarried when Rocky was away, and wasn’t able to have any more children, although the two did adopt a boy (Rocky Jr.). Rocky Marciano was champion.
An investigation into the crash of the Cessna in NewtonIowa cited pilot inexperience as the cause of the crash. The Marchegiano’s had five more children after Rocco: Alice, Connie, Elizabeth, Louis, and Peter. He was invited to the White House to meet the President. Rocky slowly became a better boxer, but it was his punching power that kept him undefeated. The famous sportswriter Jimmy Cannon observed that Marciano trained “like a man practicing a holy ritual.” Before fights he would slip away to a church or chapel to pray. The 1963 issue of Boxing Illustrated claimed: “Marciano’s knockout blow packs more explosive energy than an armour-piercing bullet and represents as much energy as would be required to spot lift 1000 pounds one foot off the ground.” Although this sort of ‘science’ was probably conducted by zealous Marciano fans, it is undeniably true that Rocky hit really hard.)
Which heavyweight boxing champion in the last century knelt on his knees to pray to St. Rocky was a brawler. An obituary in his home state of Massachusetts read:
Marciano was “a kind and decent man.”, He was “inherently a decent, righteous and truly wonderful guy…His innate decency and wholesomeness shine through in a dedicated glow.” Or: “We never cease to be amazed at the humility of Rocky Marciano…he treats everyone if they were the celebrity and he the awed little guy.” Another writer called him “probably the humblest of heavyweight champions.” Said another: “He reminds you of a great, friendly collie …with the grin of a shy fellow happy to be recognized, at last, as a member of the gang in good standing.” He was “the gentlest athlete I have ever known,” and again: “a man of simplicity and sincerity.”
Rocky was generous with people who were down and out, often giving them unsecured loans that were rarely paid back. His wife, Barbara, was unable to have the large family Rocky wanted. Yet even after he had enough money Rocky went after more. There would be good food, a nice check for a few words, and still enough time to fly back for his birthday. Marciano’s body was found pinned beneath the wreckage.
Russell Sullivan, Rocky Marciano, The Rock of His Times, 2002, University of Illinois Press, Urbana and Chicago.
While sportswriters criticized Marciano’s boxing shortcomings, no one criticized his character, as the following quotes show:
Lena prayed to St. Rocky kept coming, even after Walcott knocked him down, closed his left eye, and opened cuts on his face that required fourteen stitches to close.
The doctor was wrong. He made sure the people who invited him paid for everything.
In 1976 Sylvester Stallone began his “Rocky” franchise. Rocco slept in the living room with the windows open, even in the winter, as if in defiance of his bout with pneumonia.
He and Lena settled in Brockton, a small city twenty miles south of Boston. The computer’s result: Marciano knocked out Ali in the thirteenth round. Even as champion he came to the ring in a robe bearing the colors of BrocktonHigh School (even though he dropped out in the tenth grade). Although he left thousands (some claim hundred of thousands) of dollars stashed away or buried underground, none of it was found to aid Barbara and the children, who were impoverished after Rocky’s death.
Marciano’s character was on display in his first fight with Walcott, which was a classic. Rocky never wrote anything down, he tried to keep track of his loans in his head, and sometimes forgot who owed him, and how much. Once, as a joke, the reigning sex symbol, Jayne Mansfield, was smuggled into a room where Marciano sat, alone. Then he was cut from the Chicago Cubs farm system. As a boy Rocco was preoccupied with his physical condition. He was undersized for a heavyweight. A few minutes later she came out complaining: “What is he, crazy? He didn’t want anything to do with me.” Marciano seemed more comfortable in the company of clergy than actresses. Before the fight Marciano met with a priest, who after their meeting said: “That boy is no ordinary prizefighter, he is one of the most dignified, straightforward people I have ever met in my life. Ali was in retirement too, after having his title stripped for refusing the draft. Rocco inherited his father’s toughness, for he survived a deadly bout of pneumonia when he was two. Hotel Jokes . I asked, “What do you want?” He said, “A match” “Why didn’t you ask me?” “I don’t talk to strangers.”
Homeless Guys Jokes
The hotel I’m in has a lovely closet. I don’t mind when my horse comes up to me in the stands and asks, “Which way do I go?” But when the horse I bet on is at the $2 window betting on another horse in the same race .
My horse was so late getting home, he tiptoed into the stable. I swung again, missed the ball, and got another big chunk of dirt.
My room is so small, the mice are hunchbacked. The horse turns around and says “Why are you hitting me, there is nobody behind us!”
Farrah’s dressing room was next to mine.
A bum asked me, “Give me $10 till payday.” I asked, “When’s payday?” He said, “I don’t know, you’re the one who is working!”
This is an elegant hotel! Room service has an unlisted number. I let her look. 10% sex, 90% guilt.
The room is so small, when I put the key in, I broke the window!
The horse I bet on was so slow, the jockey kept a diary of the trip. .
There was a girl knocking on my hotel room door all night! Finally, I let her out.
I don’t mind when my horse is left at the post. Just then, two ants climbed on the ball saying, “Let’s get up here fast before we get killed!”
I’m now making a Jewish porno film.
A drunk was in front of a judge. I lost 100 pounds!”
I played a great horse yesterday! It took seven horses to beat him.
I was playing golf. The drunk says, “Huh. I swung, missed the ball, and got a big chunk of dirt. Hollywood called me, asking me, “How much to do a movie with Farrah Fawcett?” I said, “$50,000.” They called back, “How about $20,000?” I said, “I’ll pay it!”
Another bum told me, “I haven’t tasted food all week.” I told him, “Don’t worry, it still tastes the same!”
I was walking down the street, and I found a man’s hand in my pocket. The judge says, “You’ve been brought here for drinking.” The drunk says, “Okay, let’s get started.”
I have a lovely room and bath in the hotel. . There was a little hole in the wall. It’s a little inconvenient; they’re in two separate buildings!
Another drunk goes up to a parking meter, puts in a quarter, the dial goes to 60.
A bum came up to me saying, “I haven’t eaten in two days!” I said, “You should force yourself!”
Ten years after the 2000 Games, the International Olympic Committee stripped that Chinese Team of its bronze medal, after uncovering evidence that star gymnast Dong Fangxiao was only 14 when she competed.
Though He Kexin’s passport officially says that she was 16 at the time of the 2008 Olympic Games, Chinese media reported that she and other teammates may have actually been as young as fourteen at the time.
So, if a gymnast looks like she couldn’t possibly be 16, there’s a good chance she isn’t yet.
However, questions were later raised about her potentially being too young to compete..
He Kexin of China poses after winning one of two gold medals in the women’s uneven bars at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
And this isn’t the first time that allegations of underaged gymnasts have plagued the Chinese team
Another smart thing about college stadium financing is that they are renovating existing structures, rather than building new facilities:
In addition, most universities expand, renovate or improve existing infrastructure rather than develop new facilities that can reduce costs and complexity. Investors have no exposure to stadium revenues; rather, overall operations of the university provide security and source of repayment.. As universities enter new conferences, competition for top recruits stiffens, inspiring additional investment in athletic facilities, particularly for football.
This is a strong source of repayment for college stadium bonds. Lastly, perhaps the biggest difference in college stadium infrastructure financings is the inextricable tie of the sports program to the university (i.e., no relocation risk).
Gerardes says that the investment is hoped to improve the fan experience, increase university brand recognition, meet rising student demand and spur financial support from alumni and donors.
College football stadiums are undergoing upgrades and renovations. Wells Fargo senior analyst Randy Gerardes writes that this is a response to recent conference realignments and increased media revenues:
Improvements to college stadiums are typically funded by tax-exempt bond offerings by the college or university, which uses its own credit to finance the project. Here is what Gerardes says about the college stadium funding model:
For instance, Texas A&M (Aaa/AA+/AA+) pledged revenue provided 13.6x pro forma maximum annual debt service coverage [for the stadium financing]. This differs from professional stadiums that generally rely on the revenues generated by games to repay bondholders.
[C]olleges and universities have been undergoing significant athletic conference realignment to increase visibility and capture additional revenue from lucrative media contracts for the major football conferences. This type of structure allows universities the ability to leverage their credit to develop athletic facilities
I lost it all in the Horseshoe Hotel playing blackjack before I went to bed,” he replied.
“How much money have you taken off him over the years?” Logan asked.

“You got it for a dime!” Walters agreed.
He gambled on the Super Bowl last year and won $3.5 million. Now, he’s a very wealthy man,” Walters replied.
Asked if there’s anything he doesn’t gamble on, Walters replied, “Not really.”
The Super Bowl: America’s Biggest Bet
More people bet on the Super Bowl than any other sporting event.
“When I met him, he was driving an old Cadillac full of bullet holes. Nevada is the only state in the country where taking bets on individual games is legal. I never got to bed to with it. Most bettors come to a sports book inside the casino, to lay their bets, wagering $2.5 billion dollars every year. Believe me,” McCarlie added.
But after 30 years of unprecedented success, the man who calls himself a Kentucky hillbilly agreed for the first time to open the door into his betting life in Las Vegas – a life he describes as one long hustle – in betting parlors, in pool rooms and on the golf course.
“I’ll take 15,” Walters countered.
When it comes to gambling, everybody knows the house has the advantage. Walters just missed a 60-foot putt, but after only three holes, he was up $17,000.
Asked what his biggest win was on a round of golf, Walters said, “Probably a million bucks, around a million dollars.”
“Five-to-one for birdie,” McCarlie replied.
“What’s the most you’ve ever made on a hole?” Logan asked.
“Probably $400,000,” Walters said.

“Ten,” McCarlie said.
“That’s a lot of money,” Logan remarked.
On the day we went along, the two buddies decided to play for $5,000 a hole, with a few side bets along the way.
“Yes. Had no air conditioning. He used to make his living off it. But there are some high rollers who consistently win, and it’s hard to find anyone better at winning than Billy Walters. So, how does a professional gambler approach the big game?
He bets on football and basketball, is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and has been so successful that many Las Vegas bookmakers are afraid to even take his bets.
When Walters golfs, it’s mostly for fun. All rights reserved.
“What’s the price?” Walters asked.
“He is,” both men replied simultaneously, laughing.
“By far. And he showed us how the hustle worked with Gene McCarlie, an old friend and casino owner.
“Who’s the better golfer?” correspondent Lara Logan asked Walters and McCarlie on a golf course.
Walters has been almost as elusive as Howard Hughes, avoiding publicity, reluctant to reveal his secrets
